My name is Sebastien Kayrouz, and I am currently studying aerospace engineering at Carleton University in Ottawa. You'll quickly find out that I like to write and read, play music, practice martial arts, think about the natural world, and, most excitingly, play competitive Pokémon (VGC).
On April 7, 2013, something happened that would forever change 12-year-old me. Something so visceral it could do nothing else but inspire me violently, like Achilles was upon the death of Patroclus. Attack on Titan had aired its first episode, leaving me in an epiphany. For the mathematicians, this was the same sort of epiphany that (should have) come upon you when learning calculus, the mathematics of change, for the first time. Put another way, it was like learning to ride a bike for the first time: everything clicks, and suddenly, the road ahead becomes a canvas for the rubber you’ll spend years burning. Anyways, the feelings I felt while watching that first episode were so powerful that, right then and there, I wanted to recreate them for others. I wanted to tell a story of my own, just as Hajime Isayama had.
Due to my personal life getting in the way, however, I wasn’t able to act on that conviction until 2019, when Season 3 of Attack on Titan had concluded. That was when I finally began my own endeavour: Ti:ME, my manga. With limited resources and no prior experience leading a production team, bringing it to life took far longer than I ever anticipated. But in July 2026, I finally held the first physical prototype of the manga in my hands. I plan to release it in September 2026, finally achieving what has been an almost lifelong dream of mine. Needless to say, I am immensely thankful to every soul who has helped or inspired me in any way, shape, or form throughout the creation of this manga. To everyone who chooses to buy it: thank you, truly, from the bottom of my heart.
